If you have used a computer, there’s a chance that you’ve used Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word is a file management app that helps you create, edit, and share your files. In addition, you can add innovative elements to your documents like images, videos, weblinks, etc.

In this blog, we’ll explore the exciting capabilities of Microsoft Word and see how you can use it to realize your organization’s full potential.

How to Customize the Quick Access Toolbar

The quick access toolbar is the topmost tab in your Microsoft Word App. This toolbar has options to save your document and undo or redo the changes made to your file.

To change the options of the Quick Access Toolbar,

  1. Click on File -> Go to Options -> Select Quick Access Toolbar
  2. The customized Quick Access Toolbar window opens up.
  3. You can choose from a set of commands to add or remove from your Quick Access Toolbar window.
  4. Select or deselect commands like Add a Table, Align Left, Email, Font, etc.
  5. Click OK to save your new settings.

Changing the Ribbon Settings

You can find the ribbon right below the Quick Access toolbar. It houses tabs like Home, Design, Page Layout, Mailings, Reviews, etc. Ribbon makes the user interface more intuitive by making it easy to find standard functions.

To customize the ribbon settings, click on File -> Select Options -> Go to Customize Ribbon option.

Then, check or uncheck the tabs you want to display on the ribbon bar. You can include the frequently used tabs for better access.

Modifying the Status Bar Settings

The bottom tab on the Word app is the status bar. This bar displays crucial information about your document like no: of words, page number, language used, etc.

To customize the status bar, right-click on the tab. You’ll see several options popping up such as page number, line number, column, signatures, language, and more. You can either select or deselect the options based on your requirements.
